Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
  • 3 red apples-peeles, cored and shredded
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Recipe Instructions

  1. Pre heat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9 inch Bundt pan or 2 loaf pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the sugar and oil. Beat in the eggs until light. then stir in honey and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients (except for pecans), stir into the batter just until moistened. Fold in the apples and pecans. Transfer to prepared pan or pans.
  3. Bake cake until a toothpick inserted into the crown comes out clean, about 1 hour. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before inverting onto a plate.
